Sources & Reference Standards
PasteMoji prefers primary technical sources for standardized facts and clearly separates those facts from editorial interpretation.
Unicode Emoji Charts
Reference charts for standardized emoji characters and sequences.
Unicode Emoji Data Files
Machine-readable emoji data and test files published by Unicode.
Unicode Technical Standard #51
The technical specification for Unicode emoji behavior and presentation.
Unicode CLDR Annotations
Locale-oriented short names and keywords used to describe characters.
Platform Rendering
Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, and individual apps may draw the same Unicode character differently. PasteMoji may use direct comparison or official platform documentation when discussing those differences, but it does not treat one vendor's artwork as the Unicode definition.
Contextual Meanings
Slang and conversational meanings are editorial summaries rather than Unicode facts. They should be presented with context and uncertainty, and not attributed to the Unicode Consortium. Read the methodology for how that distinction is applied.
PasteMoji is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Unicode Consortium or the platform vendors named above.
