Flag History
Designed by playwright Alwin Bully for independence in 1978. At its centre sits the sisserou parrot, found only on Dominica, ringed by ten green stars for the ten parishes. The design was fine-tuned three times by 1990, mainly adjusting the stars and the parrot.
