Adopted: 1928 (canton designed 1895)

The 'Blue Sky with a White Sun' canton was drawn in 1895 by revolutionary Lu Hao-tung for the Revive China Society; Sun Yat-sen later added the red field. The Nationalist government made it China's national flag in 1928, and it followed the Republic of China to Taiwan in 1949.
